The first Friday pick-up will be June 19 (next week), and the first Tuesday will be June 23. However, I still have not heard from many of you which day you want to pick-up. And very important, bi-weekly members I need to know if you want to start the first week or the second. You cannot all start on the same week or the harvests will be uneven. Try to look ahead to the summer and see if one every other week works better for your plans.
Now for the sad radish story: For the past four years I’ve inter-seeded radishes in the summer cabbage row. This has worked timing-wise to have radishes the first pick-up. I’ve been watching them and they quickly went from almost ready to over-mature in just a couple days. We lost that first radish crop I’m sorry to say. But the first pick-up will still include lettuce, spinach, kale, scallions and tons of herbs. The first pick-up would be a good time to get some oregano, thyme, or anise hyssop for drying.
See you soon,
Cory
