Looks like the onions will be ready to all be harvested this week. The grade 3 class from Edge Hill School will be coming to help either Wednesday or Thursday depending on which day seems drier. They will be here from noon to 2:30 and if anyone would like to come lend a hand it would be helpful. Once I confirm the day with them I will do another post to let everyone know, but thought I’d give a head’s up.
I’ve already harvested the long term storage onions since they were ready last week. What’s left are the Rossa Lunga red onions that still store pretty well and will take us until the end of the main season and into the winter shares. It’s only three 300 foot rows, but since we have to handle them gently it take some time 🙂
